Me, MyMags and I

I have a heavy addiction. And besides being heavy, it occupies a lot of space. That’s the reason to keep it registered here – if I do not manage to buy a farm to store all these mags, I’ll have to slowly start getting rid of them. So, like an inventory, this will be a glimpse of my dear, abundant magazine collection. (I know I'll find a way to have a huge farm - in fact, this is a "just in case" register. Yes. Absolutely. That's what it is.)

EXCLUSIVE!

Sponsorship and Involuntary Contributions

Although being semrevista; magless; sans magazine, there are adorable people that are my sponsors, even if some of these same people sometimes got fed up with Me, MyMags and I.Also, there are some people and institutions that are the Involuntary Contributors to my passion – like those enchanted places where I enter and find a precious mag available, just waiting to be mine. Or even some illuminated organizations that send it to my home!

Once-in-a-lifetime mags

Many of them I simply didn't like. Many others I liked but never found again. Some are no more published.

And some others came just because they were the Number One issues (yes, no matter the subject, if it's the first issue of a mag, I want it).

Anyway, the spare ones. One and only.

ON CLOUD NINE

Not only airports are the greatest mags suppliers, but also the airlines companies have their own in-flight publications - what I really, really appreciate.

It came with my mag!

Every now and then some magazines come with a souvenir.I'm an easy victim, yes.

The good news is that some of them seem to be tailored for me.

The sweetest thing

The cutest form of abstraction.

semrevista; magless; sans magazine

I am subject of oppression from people that do not have this same obsseslink with magazines that I do. These people are the semrevista; magless; sans magazine. They can be found walking on the streets, in many public spaces, in my office, among my friends, among my family!, but mainly, ON THE AIRPORTS.

Newborn - The NUMBER ONE ISSUES

I have a special thing for them. Novelty, fresh meat (oh, this was horrible). No matter the subject of the magazine, I like them. Mollusk Experts Magazine, issue no. 1 - I want it!

THE ADS IN MY MAGS

The following sentence is automatically heard every time a semrevista; magless; sans magazine friend of mine picks up one of those huge magazines – the ones from Italy and USA, especially Vogue and Elle, are good examples:“But more than half of this magazine is advertisements!”True. But these ads – the majority of them, at least – are useful because they show the essence of a stylist, a collection, or a shop. Of course it applies for fashion, decoration, art, architecture magazines and the alike. In a news magazine… well, they can serve to show who pays for the things that you are reading and, at a deeper analysis, the institutions that routes the editorial line of the mag. But, well, since the ads are there, I take benefit of them.

Places to do it

Anytime, anywhere.

But there's always a special time, and a special place, that can make it even better.

Whenever I want OR whenever I can

Some magazines I buy eventually - either because I like them but not enough to get every single issue, or because they're not available to buy in Brazil.

Of course, there are times when I'm simply out of money (this sad material world).

One mind, two magazines

It happens every now and then. Sometimes, I just arrive home and see the double, and then I go back to the supplier and change it.

There are also cases when a dear friend - or my mom - give me an issue that I already have With so many options, what a wasted opportunity!

And, finally, it’s not that uncommon that, after buying some non specific mag, I miraculously receive it at home!

MAG TRIP

The mags that I only have the pleasure to meet during my trips, that is, all the candies that are not sold in Brazil.
